Beware: Fresh Graduates Will Face a Tougher Job Market in the Age of AI

Beware: Fresh Graduates Will Face a Tougher Job Market in the Age of AI

A hard truth we must accept.

Artificial Intelligence is rapidly transforming the job market. Many tasks that were traditionally assigned to fresh graduates—data analysis, basic coding, report writing, customer support, and research—are now increasingly automated.

Companies today can do the work of several junior employees with one experienced professional assisted by AI tools. As a result, the number of entry-level roles is shrinking globally.

This creates a serious challenge:

If fresh graduates are not hired, who will become the future experienced professionals?

The reality is changing:

• Degree alone is no longer enough

• Employers expect AI literacy and practical skills

• Fresh graduates must prove they can work with AI, not compete with it

Universities, companies, and policymakers must rethink the talent pipeline.

Otherwise we risk creating a generation of graduates qualified on paper but locked out of the job market.

The future belongs to those who learn, adapt, and build skills faster than technology evolves.
